Customer Service Area Manager – Africa
Further develop our after-sales in the Africa market, for our seed preparation, solvent extraction, oil refining, fat modification, biodiesel and HVO/SAF pre-treatment business lines. Oversee the entire client lifecycle, from quotation to project delivery, ensuring technical and commercial excellence. Negotiate with suppliers, manage purchase orders, and provide regular progress updates to support strategic decision-making. Key accountabilities

Develop the after-sales business within your designated territory (Africa), ensuring business growth in line with team goals.

Take full ownership of your client portfolio, managing all aspects of the customer lifecycle including commercial, technical, administrative, and project execution responsibilities.

Prepare and submit comprehensive offers based on customer RFQs, ensuring that proposals are competitive and meet customer needs.

Collaborate with internal teams, including Engineering, to deliver high-level technical support and tailored solutions for clients.

Negotiate with suppliers to secure competitive prices, ensuring cost-effective solutions for both clients and the organization.

Oversee the execution of Purchase Orders, ensuring that all aspects of delivery are managed efficiently while maintaining positive client relationships.

Regularly track and report on quotation and project status, leveraging sales data to contribute to strategic growth initiatives.

Continuously update product knowledge, working closely with Desmet's technical experts to stay ahead of market developments.

Report to the General Manager, providing insights and updates on portfolio performance and growth opportunities.
Required profile

Technical Background: A technical degree or a minimum of five years of experience in a technical-commercial role, ideally within a technical environment.

Technical Proficiency: Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings (both 3D and 2D).

Self-Starter and Team Player: Highly motivated, proactive, and hands-on with the ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment.

Problem-Solving Skills: Analytical and structured approach, with a "what if…?" mindset to propose innovative solutions to customer challenges.

Language Proficiency: Fluent in English, with proficiency in additional languages considered a valuable asset.

Quick Learner & Creative Thinker: Ability to quickly grasp new concepts and present creative, effective solutions to problems.

Willingness to Travel: Flexibility to travel up to 50% of the time, as required for client meetings and business development.
