Area Sales Manager Central and Eastern Europe
You will be part of our dynamic Sales team focused on the European market, where you will promote and implement Desmet technology across a portfolio of industrial turnkey projects ranging from €500K to €20M. Our reliable and innovative technologies transform oilseeds, grains and tropical oils into protein feed/food, edible oils/fats, oleochemicals and biofuel.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Identifying, analyzing, and qualifying potential project leads within the Central and Eastern European market.
- You focus on developing long-lasting relationships with existing clients. At the same time, you keep a watchful eye on commercial opportunities with new clients.
- Reviewing client-issued specifications and collaborating internally to propose optimal technical solutions.
- Acting as a liaison between clients, engineering teams, and legal advisors throughout the sales cycle.
- Preparing and presenting final proposals that align with Desmet’s commercial and technical standards, including terms and conditions.
- Ensuring a smooth handover to the project management team upon successful contract award.
- Staying abreast of technological advancements and market trends through collaboration with Desmet experts and industry monitoring.
- Playing a direct role in driving Desmet’s growth through successful project acquisition and client engagement.
- Reporting directly to the Sales Manager Europe
REQUIRED PROFILE:
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- International experience, ideally with experience in Central and/or Eastern Europe.
- Strong technical and analytical skills, combined with excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
- Exceptional interpersonal and intercultural competencies.
- Fluency in English and proficiency in one or more Slavic languages (e.g., Ukrainian, Russian, Polish, Czech, Bulgarian, Serbian, or Croatian).
- Willingness to travel regularly within the region (up to 30%) and work flexibly from our Diegem HQ and remotely
Preferred Education/Experience
- You are an engineer in one of the following fields: (electro)mechanics, chemical, bio or business engineering.
- You have experience in industrial CAPEX projects, preferably in food & feed, chemistry or environmental processes.
- You benefit from a first relevant technical-sales experience and wish to further grow in a sales role.
