Maintenance and Quality Control Engineer
We are looking for Maintenance & Quality Control Engineer, supporting our product lines in seed preparation, solvent extraction, oil refining, and fat modification. You will ensure operational excellence and quality across custom-engineered plants and equipment for the food, feed, and biofuels industries. This role is key to maintaining the reliability and performance of our innovative technologies. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to uphold global standards in plant maintenance and product quality. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Inspect Desmet’s process installation and its component to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair.
- Perform troubleshooting to solve minor repair issues.
- Supervise and coordinate maintenance activities with client and subcontractors.
- Perform inspection and quality control of equipment in our supplier’s and sub-contractor’s workshops within the European Area and Turkey.
- Ensure compliance with applicable safety standards and regulations.
- Document and maintain records of inspections, maintenance activity, repairs, and other work done.
- Report to the Quality Control & Site Services Manager and maintain close contact with Customer Service Department.
REQUIRED PROFILE
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Thorough comprehension of industrial drawings.
- Must have skills and experience in the use of control instruments.
- Good communication and ability to work in autonomy with excellent interpersonal and intercultural skills
- Have an analytical and structured approach
- Proactive with ability to learn quickly and bring creative solutions to problems
- Affinity to work autonomously with good organizational skills.
- Fluent knowledge of English and any other language. Knowledge of French is a strong asset.
- Willingness to travel frequently in- and outside Europe.
Preferred Education/Experience:
- Technical Engineering degree (Mechanical, Industrial) and/or can demonstrate at least five years’ field experience in an industrial facilities environment involving assembling, controlling and erection of industrial machineries.
- A good knowledge of welding process is an asset.
