Desmet Acquires IP for Enhancing Oils & Fats Processing sustainability

Desmet recently acquired the intellectual property related to nano-cavitation in the oils and fats industry from technology developer Cavitation Technologies, Inc (CTi).

After a 15-year collaboration and exclusive license agreement with CTi for oils & fats applications, Desmet found it strategic to acquire the technology.

The intellectual property acquired includes 5 Nano® Reactor apparatus patents, 12 nano-cavitation application patents related to oils & fats processing, 2 registered trademarks and the knowhow for manufacturing of Nano® Reactors.

With this technology, Desmet now controls the IP protection, manufacturing capability and process knowledge to apply nano-cavitation enhancement of oils & fats processes. The benefit for Desmet customers using these nano-cavitation processes in oils & fats processing is yield increase coupled with significant reduction in process chemicals and waste effluent, contributing to a more sustainable process solution.
