VAL Inaugurates Second Soybean Crushing Line

a joint venture between Bunge and Wilmar, has officially inaugurated its second soybean crushing line at Phu My 1 Industrial Park, boosting total capacity to 7,800 tons/day and making VAL the largest soybean crushing complex in Southeast Asia.

This milestone strengthens Vietnam’s raw-material security for its livestock and food industries while advancing sustainability and efficiency.

The new line, supplied by Desmet, is engineered to leading international standards, integrating full automation with real-time quality monitoring and control systems. These innovations optimize operational efficiency, conserve energy, ensure consistent product quality, and uphold the highest safety and environmental standards.

The newly inaugurated second soybean crushing line reflects VAL’s longstanding commitment to ‘green growth – responsible development,’ integrating waste-heat recovery, closed-loop water systems, and continuous automation to mitigate workplace risks.

With advanced technology and a sustainability-driven approach, VAL is set to process 2.6 million tons of soybeans annually, meeting ~30% of Vietnam’s domestic animal feed demand and reinforcing food security.
